A thousand new mercies are mine every day,
keeping my feet on that old narrow way.
Mine is the pardon, mine is the peace,
his freedom has found me, from death a release.

A thousand new mercies I know in his will;
his word is the comfort that makes the storm still.
I walk through the shadow of death’s darkest vale,
the whole world is falling - I won’t be afraid.

His word, his correction to make my path straight,
to guide and to change me, and teach me his grace.
For often I fall down, and falter and fail -
his grace keeps me walking that old narrow way.

A thousand new mercies that make still the storm
are mine every day, from the hands of my Lord.
Mine is salvation, and hope for all days,
so I’ll keep my feet on that old narrow way.

My joy my desire – to follow him ‘till
I lay down a crown at the feet of my King.
For broad is the highway that leads to the grave,
